But how do you take someone’s voice?
You can’t, you know, not unless they give it. The voice is more than the noise a body makes. It is the shape around it, and its silence, too.
How do you take a voice? Well, it takes years of shushing, not listening, belittling, drowning out. It’s not an easy job. They have to give it.
This is my voice.
